Buck Spring Plantation (BSP) POA board is focused on balancing property owners’ peaceful enjoyment, preservation of the community’s character and protection of property values, with respect for owners’ rights to use their property for Short Term Rentals (STR).
Renters naturally bring more liability to the association, and the board wants to mitigate risk. The common areas of BSP fall under the authority of the POA. These areas are of utmost importance for any POA, as they are where association members spend time and share together.
Buck Spring Plantation is a nonprofit entity and the BSP board has ruled that as such no common areas or property of the association (picnic pavillions, boats docks and boat ramp) may be used by the board, or a property owner (individual or enterprise) in the community directly or indirectly for an income producing or profit-making venture, including STR tenants.
Effective 1-18-2024, owners of Short Term Rentals properties are required to register their rental contact information through the owners portal so that the board may contact them should a need arise regarding nuisance activity by STR tenants.
The board is asking all property owners who use their properties for short term rentals, to register, acknowledge, and affirm their support for the rules, regulations, and responsibilities of property ownership in BSP, and the rules, regulations, and responsibilities of STR and home ownership in Warren County and the State of North Carolina.
